Dr. Leila Africa, director of the Institute of Human Nutrition and Food at the University of the Philippines- Los Baños, gives a lecture on diet diversification on traditional and sustainable Filipino diets the celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22, 2019at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City. In her lecture, Dr. Africa said that a person must eat nine servings of diverse fruits and vegetables to prevent heart diseases, while for cancer, it should be 7.5 servings. This year’s IDBD’s theme is: “Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health.” ###
